This Glenfield renovation was all about creating a home that better suited its owners—now empty nesters ready to refresh their space. With their children having moved out, the couple saw this as the perfect time to create a more practical and comfortable space that suited their lifestyle, so they turn their attention to two key areas: the main bathroom and the laundry.
The original laundry wasn’t working hard enough. It felt like wasted space, so the builder completely redesigned the layout to include a second shower—a long-time wish for ‘his and hers’ bathrooms. The result? A much more functional room that now doubles as a practical secondary bathroom, without sacrificing flow or style.
In the main bathroom, the island bathtub was removed and replaced with a sleek, space-saving corner bath. This new layout is easier to navigate and creates a cleaner, more open feel overall.
When it came time to choose tiles, the couple visited Tile Lane and were drawn to the subtle elegance of our Magione 300x600mm Matt porcelain tile. Its gentle texture and natural tone added warmth and sophistication to both spaces. For the bathroom walls, they went with a classic Manhattan 250x50mm Matte White Subway tile—clean, timeless, and the perfect pairing with Magione.
They carried the same look into the laundry but added a pop of character with Nara Kit Kat mosaics as the splashback. This small detail helped create a point of difference while keeping the palette cohesive throughout the home.
This project is a great example of how thoughtful design and quality materials can completely transform everyday spaces into something special—tailored perfectly to the people living in it.
