At Tile Lane, nothing excites us more than seeing how our tiles become part of a bigger story — and this Collaroy renovation by NSW Design & Construction is the perfect example.
Once a dark, closed-in home, this property has been transformed into a light-filled retreat that captures the relaxed, breezy spirit of coastal living. The homeowners loved where they lived, close to the beach, but their house no longer suited their lifestyle. Rather than move, they chose to renovate — extending and reworking the spaces to create a home that finally feels as good as its location.
From Closed-In to Coastal Chic
The design brief was all about balance: creating a space that felt timeless, functional, and modern, while maximising natural light. NSW Design & Construction completely reimagined the layout, opening up the interiors and adding thoughtful details throughout.
The result is a home that flows beautifully from room to room — fresh, open, and tailored for the way this family now lives.
Tile Choices That Elevate Each Space
Tiles played a central role in the transformation, bringing texture, colour, and durability to every part of the home:
-
Northport Grigio 600x600 Matt Porcelain was used across all bathroom floors and walls, providing a sophisticated stone-inspired backdrop with a timeless matt finish.
-
In the ensuite shower, the Marrakesh Mint 120x120 Zellige Matt Square Tile brings artisanal texture and a soft, refreshing pop of colour.
-
The main bathroom shower features the Manhattan Ocean 75x150 Gloss Subway Tile, a deep blue tone that adds richness and contrast against the neutral palette.
-
For the laundry shower wall, the Sienna Spring Green 50x250 Gloss Subway Tile adds a fresh, playful burst of colour that uplifts the space.
-
Outside, the Tivoli Beige 600x600 Matt Porcelain Tile was chosen for the balcony, combining durability with a natural look that’s perfectly suited to coastal living.
A Timeless Result
Every corner of this Collaroy home has been redesigned with purpose. The interplay of soft neutrals, natural textures, and subtle pops of colour creates a cohesive look that feels both elegant and relaxed. It’s a renovation that proves how the right tile selection can transform not just a space, but the way a home feels and functions.
For us at Tile Lane, it’s always inspiring to see how designers and builders use our tiles to shape spaces that families truly love living in. This project is a reminder that with the right vision — and the right materials — any home can be reimagined into something extraordinary.
