When Mickey Mouse Bathrooms first stepped into this project, the brief was clear: take an outdated, poorly planned bathroom and turn it into something brighter, smarter, and full of personality. The original space lacked flow, natural light, and any sense of visual cohesion. Heavy surfaces made the room feel smaller than it was, and an awkward layout meant every corner worked harder than it needed to.
Instead of fighting the space, the team reimagined it completely, opening up the room, simplifying circulation, and letting thoughtful details guide the design. The result is a bathroom that feels calm, character-filled, and beautifully refreshed with high-quality workmanship show through.
Bringing Life and Light With Zellige Tiles
At the heart of the transformation are two Tile Lane favourites: Mykonos Sage Green Zellige subway tiles and Marrakesh White Zellige Gloss tiles. Both were chosen for their handcrafted aesthetic and ability to instantly elevate a space with depth, movement, and artisan charm.
The Mykonos Sage Green Zellige subway tiles now wrap the feature walls in a rich, earthy hue. Their natural variation and soft imperfections give the room texture and life, exactly what the original bathroom lacked. The gentle sage tone introduces warmth while staying fresh and contemporary, creating a serene, spa-like backdrop that feels both grounded and luxurious.
To complement the green tones, the design introduces Marrakesh White Zellige Gloss tiles. Their subtle shimmer and luminous edges play beautifully with natural and artificial light, scattering soft reflections across the room. This instantly brightens the space and makes it appear more open, counterbalancing the depth introduced by the feature walls.
